Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

The new rally inspired Lancer Evolution X has finally arrived and was uveiled by Misubishi Motors Malaysia at Kuala Lumpuer City Center (KLCC). For the Malaysian market, MMM had dropped the ‘X’ and as such, the new car ony be known as, Lancer Evolution.Under the bonnet is a fresh 4b11 2.0 litre turbo charged MiVEX unit, complete with an aluminium block that produces an estimated 300 bhp @ 6500rpm, which can propel the Evolution from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 250km/h.

The Evolution spots the very latest development of Mitsubishi’s Super ALll Wheel Control and the electronically controlled four wheel drive system which incorporates Active Stability Control, Active Yaw Control and an Active Centre Differential that provides better grip and acceleration out of corners. Active braking, combination of Eibach & Bilstein suspension and steering makes the latest Evolution handles better than ever before, It also comes with a new six speed twin clutch semi automatic gearbox (SST) with Formula One style steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. No manual transmissions are yet offered by MMM for the time being. Inside the cabin, quality levels have been improved with soft touch materials and a stylist dashboard design and a MP3 compatible CD stereo integrated into the centre console which hosts a premium audio system (a total of 9 speakers & 1 650W amplifier) from Rockford Fosgate.
