5 The Most Unforgettable Movie Cars 2007

1961 Ferrari 250 GT
Have you ever known that cars can be not only a means of transportation, but also movie stars, they can have their own fans and ratings. It is not easy, to choose among them, because tastes differ and what is good for one person, can look ugly to another. Now, I will give a list of the most popular and unforgettable movie cars and you must feel free and give your comments, whether you agree or disagree! OK?

Fist of all, pay attention, I will enlist them, not from the point of view of their importance and rank. It is just a narration.

1. Let’s start with: 2003 Mini Cooper S
I am sure, you remember, it is one of the Madonna’s favourite cars. More than 40 years of production, extreme popularity, millions of fans… What is the recipe of such a success? It offers not only: safety, comfort, advanced functions, durability and reliability while driving, it has a competitive price and really bright appearance. Driving a Mini - you have a status of independent person, possessing your own opinion. Also, these incredible stripes … They are so cute… This car will always be popular. Don’t you think so?

2. 1964 Aston Martin DB5, (Known to the publicity as “Goldfinger”)I suppose, most of you, have recognized it? Right you are - James Bond car. There are a lot of movies about James Bond and there were a lot of cars used there, but, in people’s minds Aston Martin DB5 always will be the car of Bond and Bond is, of course, Sean Connery. All Bond cars are posh, expensive and bright, but, unfortunately, none of them, has made such a stir, as Aston made. This car is not just as a beautiful image, it is a powerful one: engine - 4.0 L, top speed - 230 km/h and it weighs 1565 kg.

3. 1981 DeLorean DMC-12, (of course, it was seen in “Back to the Future”)It was a hybrid - a rear thing for those times, possessed 5-speed manual transmission, gull-wing doors… The main peculiarity - it is not just a car - it is a plane as well. It can both fly and ride at a very high speed. This car is not so beautiful and authoritative as the first two, but we adore dreaming and actually, why not? Moreover, we have to say “thank you” to the manufacturer, because it was the only one car produced by the company De Lorean. Its prototype was ready in 1977 and the production stopped in 1982. It looks a little bit strange, and even ugly, and still reminds a guest from the far planet. There was made only 9 000 thousands of these cars and 6 500 are still believed to be alive. You can try to find one!

4. 1961 Ferrari 250 GT, (it was a star of the famous “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”)Ferrari, of course, no list can be full without this name. Red Ferrari with convertible roof, to tell the truth, it always was and will be one of the most expensive and authoritative cars. This movie has completely changed the youth attitude to life, since the release of this movie, millions of teens started driving their fathers cars. Oh, I have almost forgotten to mention - this car is so fast… Hold tight!

5. 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390, (it was specially designed fo the movie “Bullitt”)Pay attention, a 7-minute scene made this car popular and cooler than Dodge Charger. Chase while driving this car is one of the most memorable among the whole movie chases.

Aston Martin Cygnet : Out Of The Box Thinking

Aston Martin Cygnet
Aston Martin Cygnet is based on ultracompact iQ model of Toyota designed for U.K market. Toyota will supply the iQ built at a plant in Japan to the U.K. car maker. Aston Martin will redesign the car to sell it as the Cygnet under its own brand. Aston Martin will make no mechanical changes to the cars, but some cosmetic changes will be made to make them look like little Aston Martins.

The Aston Martin Cygnet will be the most economical Aston car , although it is not a true Aston because it is based upon the Japanese Toyota. The company says the car will offer a Euro NCAP five-star safety package as well as a “distinctive, intelligent and exclusive solution for urban travel in style and luxury.”
Aston CEO Ulrich Bez envisions the Cygnet being offered exclusively to owners of an Aston DBS, DB9 or Vantage as “a novel transport solution allowing intelligent and sensitive mobility on an exclusive and innovative level.”

The Toyota iQ was launched in January 2009 as Toyota’s answer to the rear-engine Smart. (It is likely to come to America soon badged as a Scion.) Unlike the Smart, but in typical Toyota fashion, the iQ is conservatively engineered. The tiny four-seater houses its powerplant up front and rides on a platform that draws heavily from the bigger Yaris. Weight varies depending on equipment and engine, but the iQ generally tips the scales at just over a ton.
Features:
67-hp with 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine
89-hp with 1.4-liter turbo-diesel
97-hp with 1.3-liter gasoline four-banger
Five- and six-speed manuals as well as a continuously variable transmission.
From 0 to 60 mph in 12 seconds
Top speed 106 mph
The iQ’s roof and door panels
Price:
The Cygnet will be offered for around €25,000 to €30,000”—the equivalent of $35,000 to $42,000.
Reports say that Aston, which was sold by Ford Motor Co. to a private equity group two years ago, will build up to 2,000 copies of the Cygnet a year.

Aston Martin DB9

Aston Martin DB9
The Aston Martin DBR9 is a racecar that was first built by Aston Martin in the year 2005. It is named after former owner David Brown and is derived from the original DBR1 car, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans competition. The original car was also the winner of the World Sports car title.

The Aston Martin DBR9 is based on the DB9 road model. This version retains the cylinder block, chassis, and heads of that car’s V12 Configuration. The rest of the DBR9, however, has been re-Configurationered in order to be put to the test of performance competition. The bodywork of the vehicle blends great aerodynamic performance with the DB9’s aesthetic approach. The car’s body panels have been constructed from carbon fiber composite in order to minimize the car’s weight. In order to complete the aerodynamic body of the vehicle, its bottom has been designed flat from the front to the diffuser in the rear.

Aston Martin One-77 supercar

Aston Martin One-77 supercar
This is Aston Martin’s new One-77, an ultra-exclusive £1.2m supercar-cum-work-of-art. A maximum 77 of these bespoke creations will be produced, hence the name, each one underpinned by an all-new carbonfibre chassis that supports a 7.0-litre V12 and handcrafted aluminium bodywork. One-77 is merely the project’s working title – the fastest, most exclusive Aston supercar ever will have a snappier name by 2009, when deliveries begin. Hang on, £1.2m for this Aston Martin One-77?

Well, £1m plus local taxes. That means any UK customer wanting a One-77 will have to cough up £300k more than it costs to own a Bugatti Veyron. The Aston Martin One-77 should be worth it though. Aston promises the car will be totally bespoke, and speaks of having its discerning clientele involved in every stage of their car’s development.

That means talk of interior trim and paint colours is pretty banal. About the only thing fixed will be the mechanics of the One-77. See the rear three-quarter light in the C-pillar? Looks like there’s space for two small seats? Well that’s your choice – you could have some extra luggage space instead, or a mix of the two.

A 7.0-litre V12? So it’s fast then…

Faster than any current Aston Martin, or any future project, they say. With next year’s V12 Vantage RS expected to crack the 0-62mph sprint in four seconds dead, before charging onto 200mph, the One-77 will truly be supercar-quick. Aston politely call the expected performance ‘exhilarating’.

Aston Martin Vanquish S Top Speed

Aston Martin Vanquish
Made popular by appearing in movies like James Bond or Lara Croft, the
Aston Martin Vanquish S was the manufacturer’s flagship vehicle. It was designed by Ian Callum and was officially introduced on the market in 2001, in New York. It is the biggest technological investment of the British automaker.

It was designed after the “Project Vantage” concept car and remained unchanged until 2005, when the Aston Martin Vanquish S was launched, which had new wheels and more power. It was sold alongside with the original Vanquish and in 2006 it managed stand-alone sales. Approximately 1500 Aston Martins v12 Vanquish and Aston Martins v12 Vanquish S have been sold since the first launch in 2001.

The production stopped in July 2007, moment celebrated by the introduction of the Vanquish Ultimate Edition. This was the only one sold with manual-transmission. Many criticized the Aston Martin Vanquish’s automatic gearbox, especially acclaimed Jeremy Clarkson, from “Top Gear”. This change was estimated at £13,250.

The Vanquish has a V12 engine of 6.0 l that generates 460 horsepower and 400 feet-pound torque. It has 6 speed semi-automatic transmission, with gear that changes under 250 milliseconds. It reaches 100km/hour under 5 seconds, using electronic throttle control and has a top speed of 300km/hour. The body structure is made of aluminum and carbon fiber and composite materials. Superior electronic developments allow the transmission to run automatically for sport modes or difficult weather condition, running on 19-inch wheels. The V12 engine was designed at the Ford Company in USA and shares certain components with the 3.0 l Duratec 30 V6.
